Molecular diagnostics analyzes genetic material (DNA/RNA) to detect infections, genetic mutations, cancer biomarkers, and drug metabolism variants. It is used for early disease detection, therapy selection, monitoring treatment response, and inherited risk assessment.

Depending on the test, samples may include whole blood (EDTA tube), nasopharyngeal swab, urine, tissue biopsy, or saliva. Our team provides specific collection kits with detailed instructions. Home collection is available for many molecular tests.

PCR assays typically have >95% sensitivity and >99% specificity when properly validated. NGS achieves >99% accuracy with appropriate coverage. Blufrog participates in CAP/CLIA proficiency testing to ensure reliable results.

Many molecular tests are covered by Medicare and commercial insurance when medically necessary. Our billing team verifies coverage prior to testing and assists with prior authorizations. Patient assistance programs may be available.
